Subscription and Billing Terms

1. Overview

These Subscription and Billing Terms explain how pricing, payments, renewals, access and add-on purchases work on Maritime Exam Prep Pro. By subscribing to any paid plan, you agree to these terms alongside our general Terms of Service.

2. Available Plans

We offer a range of subscription plans and one-time add-on purchases. Current plan details, pricing and features are set out on our /pricing page. Pricing is displayed in GBP unless otherwise stated.

We reserve the right to introduce, modify or discontinue plans at any time. Existing subscribers will be given reasonable notice of any changes that materially affect their plan.

3. Subscription Access and Billing

Access to paid features requires an active subscription. Payment is taken immediately upon subscription start. We do not offer automatic trial periods — all charges are applied at the time of purchase with your explicit consent.

4. Payment Processing

All payments are processed securely by Stripe, a leading payment processing provider. Maritime Exam Prep Pro does not store or handle your payment card details. By entering your payment information, you agree to Stripe's terms of service and privacy policy.

Payment is taken at the start of each billing period (monthly or annual, as selected).

5. Auto-Renewal

Monthly and annual subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless you cancel before the renewal date. You authorise us (via Stripe) to charge your stored payment method on each renewal date at the then-current plan price.

We will send a renewal reminder by email before any annual renewal. You can cancel auto-renewal at any time from your account settings — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period.

6. Multi-Month and Fixed-Term Plans

Where multi-month or fixed-term plans are offered, these are charged as a single upfront payment for the stated period. These plans do not automatically renew at the multi-month rate — at the end of the fixed period your access will end unless you choose a new subscription.

7. Add-On Purchases

Add-on usage packs (such as AI chat credits, drill generation credits and completion report credits) are one-time purchases. Credits are added to your account immediately upon payment and do not expire while your account is active. Add-ons are non-transferable and cannot be shared between accounts.

8. Failed Payments

If a payment fails, we will attempt to notify you by email and may retry the charge. If a renewal payment cannot be collected, your access to paid features may be suspended until the payment is resolved. We will not delete your account data during a temporary payment failure.

9. Price Changes

We reserve the right to change subscription prices. You will be notified at least 30 days before any price change takes effect. If you do not wish to continue at the new price, you may cancel before the next renewal date.

10. Access on Cancellation

When you cancel a subscription, your access continues until the last day of the current paid billing period. After that date, your account reverts to the free tier (if available) or becomes inactive. Your study data and progress records are retained and will be available if you resubscribe.
